Fall Decor Home Updates

Fall is the time of year when I want my home to feel warmer and more comfortable. Before the cooler days fully arrive, I like making a few small changes around the house. A softer pillow, a warm rug, or a few new home pieces can make a room feel much more inviting.

There is no need to change everything at once. Even small updates can make a big difference when you spend more time indoors. I would focus on adding softer textures, warmer colors, and a few useful pieces that make everyday spaces feel nicer.

For these pre-fall updates, I looked at pieces from different brands that can work in bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas, and entryways. These are the kinds of home finds I would add before fall fully sets in because they can make the space feel more comfortable without making it look overly seasonal.

1. Bubble Cuddle Pillow

When I start spending more time at home, I always want my sofa or bed to feel extra comfortable. A soft cuddle pillow can make a small corner feel much nicer without changing the whole room. I would place it on a sofa or reading chair where I usually relax.

Keeping a few soft cushions around can also make the space feel warmer for fall. It is a small update, but one that I would notice every time I sit down to relax.

2. Carolina Classics Set of 2 Taylor X-Back Counter Stools in Antique White

Home Square

$65

The kitchen is another place I would update before fall. A pair of counter stools can make the space feel more finished while also giving me a comfortable place to sit with a cup of tea or a quick breakfast.

The antique white color would also work nicely with many kitchen styles. I would keep the rest of the space simple and let the stools add a clean, warm look around the counter.

3. Chloe Speculo Embedded Led Mirror 6000K Daylight White 24" Wide

Chloe Speculo Embedded Led Mirror

Home Square

$226

Getting ready in the morning can feel easier when the space has good lighting. An LED mirror like this would be useful in a bathroom or dressing area where I want a clear view while getting ready.

It can also give a plain wall a more finished look. I would keep the area around it simple so the mirror and its lighting do not get lost among too many things.

4. European Linen True Blackout Curtain - Single Panel

European Linen True Blackout Curtain

Quince

$92

Curtains are one of the first things I would change when getting my home ready for fall. A linen curtain can give windows a softer look, while a blackout option is useful when I want the room to feel darker and more peaceful.

I would especially consider these for a bedroom. Once the curtains are up, adding a warm throw and a few soft pillows would make the space feel much more ready for cozy evenings at home.

5. Talula Indoor/Outdoor Rug

Talula Indoor and Outdoor Rug

Quince

$100

Cold floors are not exactly what I want when I am trying to make my home feel cozy. Adding a rug can make a room feel warmer and give an empty area a more finished look. I would place one in the living room, bedroom, or entryway.

A rug can also help bring a few colors together. I could use one of its shades in a cushion, blanket, or small piece of decor to make the room feel more connected.

6. Woman Wall Art

$188

Wall art is another simple way to refresh a room before a new season begins. I would place a piece like this above a console table, beside a reading chair, or on an empty wall that needs something extra.

For fall, I would keep the rest of the decor warm and simple so the artwork does not get lost among too many pieces. Sometimes adding one new item to an empty wall is all a room needs.

7. Little Green Mini Cordless

Little Green Mini Cordless

Bissell

$130

Before adding more cozy items, I would also make sure the home is properly cleaned. A small portable cleaner would be useful for quick spots on rugs, carpets, and furniture, especially after spending more time indoors.

I like having cleaning tools that are easy to grab when needed. Keeping the sofa, rug, and other soft surfaces clean means all those new fall pieces will look better too.

8. Ember

Ember

Cozy Earth

$48

Fall evenings feel better when the room has a warm scent. I would place this candle on a coffee table, bedside table, or shelf to add a cozy feel to the space.

Lighting it in the evening would be a simple way to make the room feel calm and relaxing. I would keep it nearby for quiet nights when I am reading, watching something, or simply resting. It would also be a nice touch when having friends or family over for a relaxed evening.

Small Changes, Cozier Fall

I would not completely change my home just for fall. A few soft, useful, and warm-looking pieces are enough to make everyday spaces feel more comfortable. These small updates would help me enjoy more cozy time at home as the season changes.

I would focus on pieces that I can keep using beyond the season too. A warm candle, soft throw, or simple decorative accent can change the feel of a room without making it look overly seasonal.
