The first time I began my skincare experience, I was confused by the numerous shelves of cosmetics that claimed to give me a glowing skin, age-defying wonders, or a hydration wonderland. I had tried everything and could not really connect with any of it, until I discovered the ILIA line of face care.
Since I have included these beauty products in my daily routine, my skin has been less stressed and more harmonized and my skin really feels well taken care of. What started as an interest became a habit I am inexplicably committed to, and here is how I went about it, and why I am adhering to it.
1. The Base Face Milk

It is my starting point in the routine, a wonderful moisturiser/essence that is lightweight and rich in hydration. It provides instant hydration without being heavy and greasy. I apply it after cleaning and it makes my skin ready to all the activities that come after, and it keeps off dryness during the day. It particularly works well when used under makeup because it facilitates the gliding nature of products.
I apply this every morning and evening to slightly moist skin. It is hydrating enough by itself and also can be layered perfectly under creamier creams when my skin is in need of the additional support.
2. Barrier Build Skin Protectant Cream

This cream is now a part of my daily routine especially when my skin is sensitive or irritated. It aims at calming the redness and strengthening the natural barrier of the skin, which becomes more resistant to the environmental factors.
I use it following Base Face Milk, especially on the parts that are likely to get dry or red. It assists in trapping in moisture and with time my skin becomes less sensitive and even-skinned.
3. Bright Start Retinol Alternative Eye Cream

This eye cream is soothing yet effective as an alternative to regular retinol, which is harsh enough to be applied to the sensitive eye complexion. It is an anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and non-irritable follicle.
I rub some on my eyes at night. It can be felt though barely: my under-eyes are fresher, less tired, and generally more radiant after regular application.
4. True Skin Radiant Priming Serum

This multi-purpose serum not only moisturizes but also makes the skin ready to be put under onyx. It has a high concentration of natural relaxing and brightening ingredients and also makes my complexion soft and luminous, which is long-lasting.
I apply a few drops of the substance to my face after my moisturiser and eye cream in the mornings before using makeup. It has the effect of being a hidden trick to a perfect foundation.
5. The Cleanse Soft Foaming Cleanser

To begin my routine with a cleanser that does not dry my skin out was an eye-opener. This is a soft foaming cleanser that does not affect the moisture level of my skin and leaves it moist and relaxed rather than tight and dry.
I massage it into wet skin in the morning and in the evening I rinse it with lukewarm water. It sweeps away the day (or night) and is not annoying, the ultimate re-set.
6. Blue Light Mist

This mist has been my lunchtime pick (in particular on really long screen days). It is made to save your skin against environmental stressors such as blue light in the screen and it is a beautiful skin pick-me-up.
I apply a few sprays on my face after applying the make-up or during the day itself to keep the skin feeling fresh and hydrated, which is quite a ritual and I really look forward to it.
Why I’m Stuck With It
The reason why I remain loyal to this routine is not only the experience that these products give me or the clean beauty principles that ILIA pursues, but also the outcomes. The skin is stronger and more relaxed and then more visible balanced than before with the serums and creams that I made random rotation. Layers on each other are beautiful and this makes the entire routine seem effortless but purposeful.
No matter who you are, be it a beginner or an expert with skincare, you do not need to overdo it as this can be achieved by simply being consistent and using products that are actually skincare respectful. The ILIA line of face care products occupies a permanent spot in my shelf (and in my everyday routine).
